Michael Stuart Donnally, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away suddenly at home Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
He was born April 27, 1949, in Bethesda, Maryland to Fitzhugh and Marion Donnally.
He graduated from Walter Johnson High School in 1968. He served honorably in Vietnam as a sergeant in Echo Company 2nd Division 5th Infantry 1st Air Calvary in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Cross of Gallantry for his service. He retired after 25 years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
Mike loved music and played rhythm guitar in numerous bands, even cutting a record with his band, The Herd. His song “The Sun is Gone” is still listened to internationally. He made a mean margarita and made friends wherever he went. Mike loved his life in Florida and all of his friends at theVFW Post 8696. He is greatly missed.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Marcella Louise Donnally; his children, Faith, Daniel, Brian and Timothy; his granddaughter, Aubrey, granddaughters, Peyton and Hannah, and their mother, Sydney King; his brother, Frank and his wife, Pamela, and their children, Genevieve, Samuel and Gabrielle; his extended family; and special friends, Bill and Rita White.
The family will invite friends to celebrate his life at a later date to be announced.
