Hillary Clinton needs a negative campaign and a positive campaign from here forward. Her negative campaign needs to continue to revolve around the argument that Donald Trump has a temperament that makes him unfit to serve as president of the United States.

Her positive campaign needs to revolve around her progressive policy agenda, but it needs to clear the following hurdle: Clinton needs to show that she is a change agent who supports the direction of the Obama presidency but who should not be regarded as running for his third term.

HRC currently leads Trump by 3.9% in an amalgam of national polls and her approval rating is now equal to Donald's. After a month when DT could not get out of his own way, HRC has fallen in the polls in virtually every "battleground" state (the 8 or so that will decide the election.) Her strategy of trying to run out the clock and avoid talking about anything is starting to wear thin. Amazingly, she could lose this thing! http://www.realclearpolitics.com/

so in essence you are calling HC a liar , she explicitly stated she will continue the policies of BHO which has brought us nothing but additional grief including the doubling of our national debt, a weakened military, chaos at the border , the benghazi travesty and 93 Million working age folks not working and as for obama's "oratory", without a teleprompter telling him what to say , one tends to here a passel of ohs, ahs, ums and other utter nonsense....

No, Hillary has made it very clear that she has differences with Obama. For example they are on opposite sides of the TPP trade agreement and Hillary was for more military involvement in Syria, including the no-fly zone that Obama nixed.

des21

She's flipped on the TPP to appease the Berniacs but most believe she will return to her pro positon (which she shares with Barry) if elected. She certainly has supported a more neo-conservative use of force in the past and, I hope, she will do so again if elected.

Hillary will be quite different than Obama. She is much stronger on military matters and definitely would do more. Forget Benghazi, that was a military decision, not a Dept. of State - it is just Republican politics. Almost everyone agrees, Hillary is far more stable than an irrational Trump, often shooting from the hip. Without a teleprompter he would be in deep trouble as soon as he opened his mouth. In fact the best thing he could do right now, to campaign, would be to keep his mouth shut.

jerseygrl42

problem is she can't seem to remember anything; 40 times she told the FBI she just couldn't remember ...Hmmmm

DickD

Any attorney would tell you it is better to say you don't remember than to make a mistake in what you say, it is the safe way to go, which Donald could learn from.

He hardly ever uses a teleprompter Dick. To compare her as a speaker to him is like comparing a Ford Fiesta to a Maserati. He is FAR more charismatic.

DickD

If you mean saying HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUge and Greeeeeeeeeeeeeat, all the time and speaking in simple sentences, you are right. He never used a teleprompter until the last couple of weeks, when they finally convinced him all his hate and foolish statements were hurting him. If that is what you want in a President, God help us all.

I don't want either of these fools as president but here we are. One a re-tread of tired, old 50 year-old ideas and one something new. I don't know. The nation may be ready for Change- even if we can't "believe" in it. Check out polls of "right direction, wrong direction." They are often very predictive and the vast majority of Americans think we're going in the wrong direction. This despite the fact that buying our own money (QE) has resulted in the artificial inflation of the market to the point that we have remade all the loses after 2007! (I know that's what you care about most of all Dick.) That's really amazing and a good indicator that Trump has a much better chance than most people think.

When the curtain closes people may do things they feel too intimidated to talk about while the curtain is open. Happens all the time.

What she has to do better - as she did in the democtratic convention - is to describe what she wants to achieve as president. During the upcoming debates, she will be asked why she wants to president, and hopefully she will be primed and ready to answer. Part of the answer can be that she wants to keep as much space as possible between Trump and the nuclear codes.

tonyc51

Three, with her faulty memory, hopefully she writes them down in case she ever needs to use them.

tonyc51

"Hillary Clinton needs a negative campaign and a positive campaign from here forward" No Hillary needs a campaign that somehow can show that she will not be the most dishonest president since Richard Nixon. Good luck.

If honesty was a prerequisite for holding political office we would have already had our last elections years ago. In any event, the last person most people are brutally honest with are themselves, but if we could start there maybe there would be hope for a better society. In general though, democratic politicians seem to me to have more integrity than republicans, maybe it's the nature of the beast

tonyc51

"If honesty was a prerequisite for holding political office ...." if you set the bar low, then that is what you get, something less than the best, and probably less than desirable. I can agree that there have been a lot of republicans that have been corrupt, but lest we forget some of the Democrat standouts such as Rod Blagojevich,Chaka Fatta (D-PA), Jesse Jackson, Jr., and an honor role member from nearby DC Marion Barry.

DickD

Tony, crooks are where you find them, they do not make Hillary a crook. If you want to look for crooks, look at Trump.

DickD

If you want the epitome of dishonesty, vote for Trump!

threecents

Tony, Bill was more dishonest. Why do you think you forgot about that?

tonyc51

I remembered him, but the truth in my opinion is that in most of the scandals (except maybe Monica) she was probably the driving force behind the events.

Piffle. It could be a "third Clinton term." But with a whole different set of problems and opportunities it will be a new day and a new way.

Only Trump and wishful cohorts have suggested that Clinton is modeling her presidency after Obama.
