The Frederick County composting operation at Heritage Farm Park in Walkersville is set to close this month.

When news of this closing broke, social media was ablaze with disbelief, anger and confusion. Unfortunately, according to the county website, there’s been no real action out of our Democrat-controlled County Council or county executive.

They’re too busy worrying about plastic straws and other critical issues. Contact them now! Otherwise, we’ll be complaining in a year’s time about yard waste finding its way into our parks, culverts and rural byways.

I couldn't agree more Mr. Offutt. If they make recycling of yord waste too difficult, people will dump illegally. Here in China, your license plate is photographed continuously. Maybe that should be implemented to catch the illegal dumpers, and fine them.
