There are times when posting a comment online to an article has its advantages — one can respond with some great emojis that get right to the point, the angry face, the thumbs down, the head slap ... you get my point. You can’t do that in a letter to the editor, but I will try in my response to Sheryl Massaro’s rather lengthy tear-down of our president in Wednesday’s paper, “He does not love us.”
I’m not sure where to start with her remarks. Is it the “He does not love us”? Or how about “He wants his names on buildings” or “He wants other people’s money”? There’s also “They are all very average people, though maybe three are beautiful,” and of course, “Indictments against him” and the real kicker, “these people in Congress love our country!”
I think the last quote deserves a head-slapping/thumbs-down emoji. Too many in Congress do not love our country, which has been demonstrated over and over by their remarks/actions since Trump has taken office. From the day he was elected, there have been those who would not accept the results, so the tearing down began, criticism for everything he tries to do, day in and day out, every day.
Pray tell me why he would put up with (and continues to do so) if he didn’t love this country?
There was a new “illness” that came into being when our president was elected: TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome. Hopefully those afflicted like Ms. Massaro will find some help/advice. “He is watched like a hawk by God ... you’d better listen.” I hear HIM loud and clear!
