It’s time to clean up our great city before it gets out of hand.
It’s time to station a police officer on the Square Corner as there was for many years. It’s time to put blue phones on Carroll Creek and in the parks like they do on college campuses.
It’s time to see a regular presence of our fine police force in these areas on foot.
Now, I know that all of this cannot be put on the backs of our great city employees, so it’s time we do our part. It’s time for an adopt a block program by businesses if we don’t already have one in all areas — like the Adopt a Highway program to keep the area clean.
If possible, it would be great if some type of power-washing program could be put in place for the sidewalks by the city. They could use freshening up.
I don’t have all the answers, but I try to be part of the solution and not just complain. People want to feel safe and secure. Look at what this has done to hurt the Golden Mile. Whether it is fact or fiction, some people have concerns. The same type of program needs to be put in place there, and in all parts of our city.
So, maybe one day we will see the major economic development in all areas of our city and along Carroll Creek that everyone has hoped for so all the businesses can prosper.
