The Frederick News-Post‘s Tuesday edition, page A8 (last page of the section), had a story, “Syrian father surprised by fast move from Jordan to Missouri.” So the 18 to 24 months vetting processed claimed by Obama administration has been replaced by a “surge” 20 day vetting? If their lips are moving, they are lying. We can’t believe anything that comes from this administration.

Last time I checked, 20 days of actual vetting is a bit less than 18 months of 'if you like 18 months, you will get 18 months" of vetting. Some might not like Diane's conclusion that he lied, meaning that he never meant to keep that promise either. But's it's clear that we can't trust anything he says he'll do. To that end, her letter is spot on.

Actually the article does NOT say that the vetting took place in 20 days, only that from the time they were notified they'd been approved until the time they moved was 20 days. There is a big difference that apparently you and Diane are unable to grasp.

A very harsh conclusion from such little evidence.

Absolutely right, Diane. After discontenting to the Republican debate, Trump nicknaming Cruz, lying Ted, Trump contradicting himself multiple times, it has left me no way to vote for Hillary your next President

obs whole life is a BIG lie and he fooled the American people not once but twice...he is doing everything in his power to destroy what we were and remake us in the mold of his beliefs and there will be a mess for someone to clean up after he is gone...he is a traitor to America and its values; a country whose vets have spilled their blood all over the world to free people from tyranny without ever asking for anything...and now the tyranny is here

DickD

The only traitor I saw was George Bush who came the closes to destroying the U.S. of any President.

Add Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan to the list of President Traitors!

yea, oblama done good . . .

He draws a red line in Syria --- then sheepishly retreats . . . rather than stabilize the region and build a safe space for the Syrian refugees

This is the same approach liberal DEMS have used in every major city where DEMS have subsidized their failed policies -- but hey, why not? I guess the water in Detroit is a deterrent to refugees now . . .

hayduke2

Tell me JohnQ - how would you stabilize the region? More troops - are you going to serve or have your children or their sons and daughter's lives put on the line or sacrificed. Seems you have plans to stabilize a region that has been turmoil for thousands of years. Can't wait to hear your plan....

Don't understand your bringing up Detroit water, not referring to Flint's water problems are you? They were caused by the State and the Governor is Rick Snyder, a Republican.

johnqFrederick

Prior to and separate from the current water crisis, Flint was in a state of financial ruination. In one of the most liberal cities in the United States, Flint’s Democrat-dominated government did what Democrat-monopoly governments do in practically every city they control: It spent money as quickly as it could while at the same time carpet-bombing the tax base with inept municipal services, onerous regulations, high taxes, and the like. As a result of this, a bankrupt Flint entered into a state of receivership, meaning that an emergency manager — or emergency financial manager, depending upon Michigan’s fluctuating fiscal-emergency law — was appointed by state authorities and given power to supersede local elected officials in some matters, especially financial ones. The contamination happened while Flint was under the authority of an emergency manager who, though a Democrat, had been appointed to the post by Michigan’s Republican governor, Rick Snyder. He was, in fact, the most recent in a long line of emergency managers, Flint having failed for years to emerge from its state of fiscal emergency.

And what exactly does this have to do with the letter, other than give you a chance to try to spin stuff again. Still waiting for your solution to the Syrian crisis....

So, Jq. you think just because the City of Flint was liberal, the state-appointed emergency manager, that made the city water supplies in April 2014, is not at fault? The problems with the drinking water started soon after. Gov. Rick Snyder admitted that the decision to switch the city of Flint's water supply from Detroit's system over to the Flint River was not well planned. He said; “In terms of a mistake, what I would say is, is there are probably things that were not as fully understood as when that switch was made,” Snyder said.

At the direction of the In his timeline, Edwards says the state failed to require that the city has a corrosion-control program in place when the city switched over to Flint River water. It’s called “corrosion control,” and Edwards says the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality covered up the fact that Flint had no corrosion control program in place.

“Before you switch to a new water source, six months to a year ahead of time, you are supposed to do laboratory experiments to determine the corrosivity of the water,” says Edwards. “And the chemistry – the pH, the alkalinity, and the phosphate that you need to make sure that the lead stays on the pipes and out of the water.”

johnqFrederick

Flint having failed for years to emerge from its state of fiscal emergency.

DickD

Yes, but he did not leave us with two unfunded wars and cut taxes so he and anyone after him could not pay for the debt incurred. So, now you blame Obama, not the real culprit.

vicdavy

Q don't you ever get tired of blaming Obama and liberal democrats for all the problems of the world? You're getting more insane and inane as time goes along

Same article said the family fled Syria 3 years ago. Doesn't appear to be an overnight decision.

Of course some people only see what fox news and glenn beck tell them. Thanks hay for busting diane.
