In my neighborhood, the trash is picked up twice a week, and the recycling is picked up every other Tuesday. Since Ijamsville road has been under construction, my route to work takes me past the landfill.

When my recycling bin is full, I put the recyclables into the trashcan. Is recycling working? If it is, why not pick up the recycling at least once a week? Who is making these decisions?

I always wonder why people write an LTE instead of calling their service provider for an issue such as this.

It takes me a month to fill either my trash or recycle bin

Twice a week trash pick up ! . That went bye bye in Frederick city about 3 years ago .

That's my thought! And I'd like it back! But we have the big recycling container and it takes two weeks for two to fill. I guess she has different providers.

It is just my wife and I and we pretty much fill the large recycle container in two weeks. I can understand how a household with more people could need weekly pickup. I guess it depends which is more expensive in the long term, weekly pickup or filling the landfill quicker.

I would imagine that expense is a factor, double the pick-ups and you greatly increase your operating costs.

Either another bin or perhaps a larger one would fix the problem.

We desperately need another bin!

Yah, you can ask for a larger bin - same size as the trash bin. I am not sure if you can get an extra bin. However, big problem is that people are putting non-recyclables in recycling bins. This causes slowdowns and large expenses. If in doubt it is better not to recycle.
