As a “self-imagined political pundit” I’d like to thank Rick Weldon for his well-written response to my critique of the Republican Party and its troubles (“Clouded reason,” Thursday’s edition).
It is always interesting when two people see the same event but come to different conclusions. One may see a train wreck, while another may see an opportunity for recycling. One may ascribe blame for the wreck to those in charge, while the other may try to place the blame on a competing train line.
I cannot speak for all the other “self-imagined political pundits” who write letters to the paper, but I do apologize to any official political pundits who may have been offended by my impudence in expressing an opinion.
(The writer, in addition to being a “self-imagined political pundit” is a member of the Brunswick City Council. However, the opinions expressed in this letter are those of the writer and do not necessarily reflect those of the city of Brunswick or its government.)
