Dear fellow Christians:

I am truly in a quandary and hope you can help me.

I believe in the power of prayer and pray for all of our elected leaders from both parties. As our supreme leader, though, President Trump should and does get special attention.

I would like to continue to pray for him, but he doesn’t seem to want it. What should I do?

If I meet up with him someday in heaven (yes, it is possible), I don’t want him to be mad at me. I don’t like conflict and couldn’t take the insults.

Harking back to my Calvinistic upbringing, do you even fathom Trump getting into heaven based on good works? He’s not going to ask anyone for forgiveness. He’s going to blow past Purgatory, straight to a meeting with Old Nick.

Um...your own book: Matthew 6:5:6 pretty well sums it up as to stop praying all over the place like you do and keep it curbed in private if you want your reward. Everybody wants to pray in public and show off their supposed righteousness, wherein Matthew 6:5:6 directly would say that would be hypocracy. So...a no from me.

"What should I do?"

You could recite Psalm 109:13

"Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out."

"Supreme leader?" Was this originally written in English?

Koine Greek, perhaps.

Just pray you don’t meet Trump in heaven. That’s a neutral solution.

Big place. Many rooms. WHEW

Have you seen a floor plan?

Not to worry Gary, it's all a hoax anyway. At least that's what Trump would say.

I pray that the FNP ceases to print idiotic Letters to the Editor.

The Lord do work in mysterious ways. Lord Trump.

If Obama had said and done one tenth of the things Trump has, evangelicals’ heads would be on fire. I don’t know if they honestly believes God smiles on their abandonment of common decency like this or what.

A religious hypocrite is the worst kind. Pass wicked judgement on many, excuse a select few.

Mr. Bennett,

Your letter seemed very weird ( My apologies but I do not know how else to describe it.) A Christian that would not pray for someone because they think the person would not want them to pray for them?? You must admit, if you are a Christian and not just mocking the faith, that sounds weird. Through this comment section I have found myself praying for people I know make a mockery of prayer and would laugh off the prayers. Are they not the people you should be praying most

for?

Did a little research. Trump rejects prayers, Items like this CNN piece popped up :

" He rejects the authentic faith and prayers of any and all religious Americans who don't share his narrow definition of conservative, white evangelicalism. He then defines "religious liberty" as the imposition of this flawed "Christian" ideology upon Americans of all faiths and no faith." Now your letter makes more sense. It is more about opinion and judgement than prayer.

You should feel blessed. I am almost certain there will be people who you do not know and who you may see in Heaven and thank, who will be praying for you today

I thought the letter was referring to Trump's comment at the National Prayer Breakfast. "Nor do I like people who say 'I pray for you' when they know that's not so.".

That comment has been regarded as a slap at Pelosi who says that she prays for the President.

Dear Gary:

I, too, feel as though I am a good person, believe in God, and do pray for all our leaders to do the right thing. However, I don't think you'll have to worry about meeting in conflict with this President in Heaven...for that will truly be a cold day in hell!

Pray for a friggin meteor to end it all.

Humanity is doing a pretty good job imploding on itself. The meteor might not be necessary.
