The Frederick News-Post’s Wednesday editorial, “In a time of terrorism, don’t give in to fear,” is the typical rant we hear from the left these days, including the president.
Can we be honest? Islam has a problem, and the problem is that elements of the religion are radicalized and many are sympathetic to the cause. And lots of people are being killed both here and abroad.
Are all Muslims radicalized? Of course not. But to not call this out for what it is and take steps to do something about it is preposterous.
ISIS needs to be defeated militarily, and as soon as possible. Neighborhoods like those we see in Brussels where radical elements are harbored need to be addressed. And yes — mosques where jihad is being promoted, need to be called out and called on to stop.
The irony of all this is that those on the left would be the ones most likely to be executed or imprisoned under this radical ideology. But of course it’s a lot easier (and safer) to call Republican candidates racist than it is to actually address the real problem at hand.
