Veterans Day is special to veterans, and should be for the public also. Veterans stood up, they served, they sacrificed, and some died so we can live in freedom.

So where are the parades? I used to see them many times when I was a child, but now, nothing.

I and many other veterans feel that a good, old-fashioned parade in Frederick is proper. I am sure many commercial businesses would gladly participate, as well as community organizations.

Frederick and Frederick County governments, are you listening?

There used to be a parade in downtown Frederick around Halloween. There was so much hooliganism, destruction of property, and unlawful acts that the city stopped having the parade.

See for some photos of this year's parade. THANK YOU, Mr. Harrigan, and all veterans for your selfless service to our country that has preserved our freedom!

Brunswick celebrated its 82nd Veterans Day Parade this year! It's a part of our history, and we'd love for more local communities to join us in celebrating veterans. The parade is held annually on the first Sunday of November. The day begins with opening ceremonies at the town square followed by a parade of military and civic groups. Please join us next year[smile]

Brunswick still has a Veterans Day Parade.

I'm sure it has something to do with money.

As much money as this country wastes on nonsense corruption and simply waste the cost to honor veterans with a parade is miniscule.

I agree. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to money.
Most everything boils down to cost and who does or doesn't want to pay the bill.

Parades = conservatives cheering liberal troops.

Agree 100%
