BRUNSWICK — Oakdale’s boys and girls won the large school team titles at the annual Lee and Anne Zumbach Invitational Meet on Saturday, while the host Railroaders won the small school girls championship.
The Bears’ Kyle Lund won the boys race with a time of 16 minutes, 12 seconds. Colin Dempsey was second for Oakdale, followed by Collin Shriner, seventh; Joshua Milliken, 11th and Charles Parrott, 12th.
Urbana’s Jonathan Mason finished sixth in the boys’ race. Thomas Johnson’s Daveen Bavari finished 10th (17:59). Frederick’s Mario Martinez ran a 17:59 in the boys’ race.
For Oakdale’s girls, Hayley Ross finished second (20:14) Emiy Baba was third, Aubrey Schaffer was sixth, Madison Gamble was eighth and Cara Fliegel was 17th.
Brunswick’s girls, which defeated Catoctin for the small school crown, 36-126, were led by Rebekah Shullenbarger, who was eighth (22:01). Other scoring runners for the Railroaders girls were Jena Rhodes, 10th, Liz Willman, 11th, Alison Laverty, 12th and Amy Tarcza, 13th.
Catoctin’s Rachel Waldron was second in the girls race (20:43). Walkersville’s Megan Bertolette finished third (20:58).
Catoctin’s Emma Strickland was sixth.
Thomas Johnson’s Saoirs Conley was 15th in the girls race (22:06).
Tuscarora’s boys finished fourth in the large school division. Nicholas Hildebrandt was eighth (17:14.56). For the Titans’ girls, Jessica Lakner finished 27th (23:33).
Brunswick’s boys finished fourth in the small school division. Caleb Shullenbarger finished 19th (17:58). Walkersville’s Owen Welty finished 26th (18:19).

CHESTERTOWN — Clay Smith scored on an assist from Ricky Salgado in the second half for Hood. Danny Castillo had four saves for the Blazers.
SCRANTON, Pa. — Hood defeated Pitt-Bradford, 3-2, but lost to RIT, 3-1.
Tailyn Kite had 14 kills for Hood against Pitt-Bradford while Elena Zinaich had 13 kills and three blocks. Payton Belella had 33 assists and Renee Reus had 15 digs.
