The town of Thurmont will hold the first Gateway to the Cure Golf Classic as part of its yearlong efforts to raise money for the Patty Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund.

The tournament will be held June 21 at Maple Run Golf Club, 13610 Moser Road. Those interested in participating can sign up at the golf club, Thurmont Town Hall or the Thurmont Main Street Center. Registration will also be available through the town’s website on March 1.

The event costs $75 per person and $300 per foursome, which includes a round of golf, gift bag and a lunch with prizes. There will also be a hole-in-one contest for a free car provided by Criswell Chevrolet, according to Thurmont Town Commissioner Bill Buehrer.

The tournament beings at 9 a.m. with shotgun start; registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
