LONDON (AP) — British police have announced they will not take any action against Prince Andrew after a review prompted by a Jeffrey Epstein accuser who claims that he sexually assaulted her.

Virginia Giuffre claims she was trafficked by Epstein to have sex with Andrew in London in 2001, when she was 17 and a minor under U.S. law. She is suing the prince in a U.S. court.

Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, denies the allegations. He told the BBC in a 2019 interview that he never had sex with Giuffre, saying: “It didn’t happen.”

In August, London's Metropolitan Police force began a review of allegations connected to late convicted sex offender Epstein. Police chief Cressida Dick said at the time that “no one is above the law.”

The force said in a statement late Sunday that its "review has concluded and we are taking no further action.”

It also said it would take no action over allegations, first reported by Channel 4 News, that Epstein's alleged accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, trafficked, groomed and abused women and girls in the U.K.

Maxwell, a British socialite, is in a U.S. jail awaiting trial on charges that she recruited teenage girls for Epstein to abuse.

The force said it is continuing to liaise with other law enforcement agencies who are leading the investigation into matters associated with Epstein.

After weeks of legal skirmishing, lawyers for Andrew acknowledged late last month that the prince had formally been served with Giuffre's lawsuit. The prince must file responses to the claims by Oct. 29.

Last week, a U.S. judge agreed for Andrew's lawyers to receive a copy of a 2009 settlement between Giuffre and Epstein that they believe will nullify the civil case against the prince.

Andrew, 61, has been banished from public royal duties amid the scandal over his friendship with convicted pedophile Epstein, who was found dead in a federal detention center in New York in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they choose to come forward publicly, as Giuffre has.

“Andrew, 61, has been banished from public royal duties….” Oh no, such a loss, the world weeps

It's refreshing to read "...convicted pedophile Epstein, who was found dead in a federal detention center in New York in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide" instead of the usual "Epstein, who hanged himself..." malarkey. As do many others, I believe there's a lot more to his death than has been revealed. And, also, with his death, there has been no further investigation into any of his buddies, including William Jefferson Clinton, who flew on Epstein's "Lolita Express" 26 times. Which, many also believe, was the reason for Epstein's death all along. As a member of the royal family, Andrew has a similar, protective shield around him. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of this which, I believe, will be nothing. And not because he's "innocent," either.

Yes, a big Something turned into a big nothing, esp when you figure in how this is the “Me Too” era which has pilloried so many non-royal celebs and near-celebs, but this shows signs of poofing into thin air. Ghislaine is in prison awaiting trial. That’s fair for now. A bunch of naive or stupid teenage girls were thrown to wolves with the blessing of their naive or stupid parent figures, is there a lesson if there is no discernible penalty? Andrew the retired Royal Nobody is a semi-pariah among retired Royal Nobodies. Whew. Rough, man.

It's fun to see CD adopt Trump's schtick of broadcasting lies and falsehoods by using his timeworn phrases of deceit....such as "many believe" or "everyone" is saying, or best of all........."I've been told by many many people....". Buffoons's laughable.

In the meantime, when Trump made William Barr his panting lapdog., Barr took quick care of protecting the long, long list of sleazy, corrupt and disgusting old rich white guys paying for what Epstein had to offer, Yeah, Trump. Barr. And a U.S. Department of Justice working long hours to protect the criminality of the POS former POTUS. Why not ask yourself, CD, who had more to lose with Epstein spilling his guts to prosecutors and the press had he lived, Clinton or Trump??

Hey MRS M, those "timeworn phrases of deceit" are Trump's? As in no one else ever uses those terms and phrases? Really? Maybe if you closed out the FNP once in a while and explored a few other media, you'd see just how stupidly wrong you are to post what you did. And Trump had no problem with socializing with another billionaire until he found out Epstein was involved with under aged girls, and that was when he distanced himself from the man and barred him from Mar-A-Lago. But, you're not concerned with details, are you? Anymore than you are with details of your favorite wh_rehopping politician's indiscretions, are you?

Questions for you then; why is it you Trump Haters always seem to forget what Bill Clinton did when it comes to all the women he cheated on his wife with?
