A Virginia man faces criminal charges and almost two dozen traffic violations after Maryland Transportation Authority police said he did doughnuts on the Bay Bridge on Sunday.

The charges against Gary Ray Montague, Jr., 22, of Dumfries, comes after videos of his stunt on the westbound span of the bridge emerged and were circulated on various social media platforms.

Transportation police launched an investigation after learning about the videos, which showed a small, dark coupe spinning its tires as it drives in circles on multiple lanes. Smoke seems to rise from the asphalt as the tires rotate rapidly.

After consulting with the Queen Anne's County State's Attorney's Office, police said they filed charges against Montague, who they suspect was the driver.

Montague, who does not have an attorney listed in online court records, faces three counts of disturbing the peace and one count of disorderly conduct -- both misdemeanor offenses.

Additionally, he faces 23 traffic violations, including driving the wrong way on a one-way street, willfully disrupting the flow of traffic and reckless driving, among other offenses.

“Who they suspect was the driver”.

This is where the case gets dismissed. His attorney will claim that the state lacks the evidence that he was in fact the driver

For someone who has so many fiends in law enforcement, you aren't very familiar with how they talk, are you, Plumbum? The cops saying they "suspect" this is the guy who did the donuts is the same as saying the "alleged" suspect, which simply means his crimes have not yet been proven in a court of law.

"On Thursday, the Maryland Transportation Authority identified the suspect as 22-year-old Gary Ray Montague Jr. of Dumfries, Virginia. Officers gave Montague more than 20 tickets and charged him with several crimes. Police issued 23 tickets to Montague. Those citations include reckless driving, willfully damaging a highway and driving a motor vehicle in a manner intended to cause skidding. Montague also faces four misdemeanors. The accused man is up against these charges:

1. Disturbance of the peace that hindered passengers

2. Disorderly Conduct

3. Disturbance of the peace through disorderly conduct

4. Disturbance of the peace with loud noises

The court issued a summons for Montague on Monday, but it has not yet been served, according to court documents. Queen Anne's County is handling the case, since the incident happened closest to the Eastern Shore. Montague will first appear in court for on Nov. 18 for a preliminary hearing. His case does not yet list jury selection or trial dates." https://patch.com/maryland/annapolis/donuts-bay-bridge-driver-caught-video-charged-police.

Do you really think they would have gone to all this trouble if they weren't sure, from their investigation, that this was the correct person to charge, Pb? Seriously?
