Two people were displaced after a fire early Monday ripped through a house in Sabillasville.
Fire and rescue units were called to the two-story house in the 6300 block of Debold Road at about 12:50 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services.
Both residents got out of the house, but one was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the release.
When units arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and a tanker task force was requested due to the lack of water supply in the rural area.
About 40 firefighters from both Frederick and Washington counties in Maryland and Adams and Franklin counties in Pennsylvania worked for more than three hours before the fire was extinguished.
Strong winds and an approaching storm were an issue, according to the release.
The Red Cross is working with the family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and a damage estimate was not immediately available.
No firefighters were injured.
