The Maryland Senate just confirmed former Frederick County lawmakers David Brinkley and Kelly Schulz to posts on Gov. Larry Hogan's cabinet.

Brinkley is Hogan's budget secretary, and Schulz is secretary of labor, licensing and regulation.

Brinkley is a former state senator, while Schulz was a delegate. Both represented District 4.

The senators this morning approved the governor's cabinet appointments unanimously and without debate.

Check back with The Frederick News-Post for details as they become available.

Must have been a back room deal, the dems said they would confirm her if they got what they wanted, the question is what do they want? I hope it is something really really valuable that we taxpayers will enjoy, because you basically just told us to take a hike by confirming Kelly, who has no experience at all in the position she was appointed to, other than the fact she has given birth.

Why in the world would you confirm someone like Kelly? Brinkley I can see, Kelly I am having a hard time understanding that. I thought democrats were supposed to be the smart ones...guess I thought wrong. [sad]
