Four Frederick County Public Schools campuses issued emails pertaining to unrelated school safety issues Tuesday, but no students or staff were harmed.

Brunswick High School issued an email after a student lit a firecracker in the cafeteria during a lunch period. Law enforcement and staff identified the student and "took appropriate action," according to the email. Students finished their lunch and returned to class.

Linganore High School, Thurmont Middle School and Middletown Middle School each received threats that required investigation. None of the schools found any threat credible, according to emails. Middletown Middle School also investigated an unfounded threat on Monday, which staff does not feel was related to Tuesday's threat, the email said.

At Thurmont Middle, a student was identified as making threats via social media over the weekend. The student cooperated with law enforcement and administration in the investigation, according to the email.

Not acceptable, threats or bullies.

UNACCEPTABLE! I have a child at Middletown Middle School and the threat pertained to a very serious action should the student have really meant to do what they said. In these times, there should be ZERO tolerance for such behavior. What kind of person/child would even remotely begin to think it would be acceptable to tell their classmates that they intend to shoot the school up during the "proposed" walkout today? I just don't understand where these thoughts and actions come from???

It was Tues 13th, yesterday. Linganore High had a shooting threat as well. Students, and i mean several, are saying this girl had been bullied and was getting retaliation. Names of those to be shot was found in her bookbag. This is ridiculous.
