The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday that the person who died by suicide at Weis Market in Spring Ridge earlier this week was a 25-year-old man.
At about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, a customer at the supermarket entered the men’s restroom in the rear of the store and found the man in a stall, bleeding profusely from what appeared to be a gunshot wound, according to a news release.
After being alerted by the customer, Weis employees dialed 911. Rescue personnel arrived and attempted to save the man, but he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
It was determined that the man shot himself with a handgun. A handgun and a suicide note were found in the stall where he was found, the news release stated.
