The City of Frederick Zoning Board of Appeals meeting scheduled for tonight was canceled a few hours before it was supposed to begin.
The board was scheduled to hear an appeal of a Planning Commission decision to subdivide the Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center and Montevue Assisted Living property.
The case will now be heard at the next regularly scheduled zoning board meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27 in the City Hall boardroom.
The hearing was canceled because one of the hearing's participants had an unexpected emergency, said city attorney Scott Waxter.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and the city sent out a press release at 4 p.m. stating that it had been canceled.
When asked if that was enough notice per the city's rules, Waxter pointed out the rules of procedures for the appeals board.
The rules state that meetings may be rescheduled due to emergency situations or inclement weather by placing a notification on the door of the meeting place.
The city placed a notice on the door of the annex building, where the case was scheduled to be heard, Waxter said.
