Both Maryland School for the Deaf track and Field teams were named 2019 National Champions by NDIAA.

It’s the Orioles’ boys fourth title overall title, while MSD’s girls have won eight.

Cassidy Perry was picked as female field Athlete of the Year. Perry set a national deaf prep record in the javelin (108 feet, 11 inches). She also was a national champion in the shot put (32 5¼) and long jump (15-8).

MSD’s Randy Shank was named Boys Coach of the Year. It’s the Orioles seventh national title for the 2018-2019 school year — a record for most national titles in a year among all deaf schools.
