Genesis Guevara headed in a corner kick made from Chase Borntreger, giving Thomas Johnson (6-2-1) the win. Alayna Burgamy had nine saves for the Patriots.

Mia Hill had six saves for Tuscarora (6-4).

Middletown 4, Boonsboro 2

Millie Smith had two goals for Middletown (9-2), which has clinched the CMC Gambrill title, Knights coach Heather Kline said.

Middletown will play in the CMC title match at Hood College on Oct. 19. The CMC Spires has yet to be decided.

Melanie Pick and Ali Robinson each had one goal for Middletown. Bella Gusman had two assists. Rachel Rudy had one.

Katie Perkins and Kylie Wells combined for three saves for the Knights.

Middletown won the junior varsity match 3-2.

Linganore 9, S. Hagerstown 0

Brooke Bennet had two goals for Linganore (5-3). Taylor Ferguson had one goal with three assists. Juliana Zeller and Alison Gagne each had one goal with one assist. Meghan Mong Kerwin, Madyson Hill, Mandy Hill and Elizabeth Rajnik each had one goal. Nora Salter, Sammie Hoefs, Karlee Duda and Erika Moore each had one assist.


Middletown 4, Boonsboro 1

Jackson Keele had two goals for Middletown (8-2-2, 5-0-1 CMC Gambrill). Dylan Burns and Wyatt Tribett each had one goal.

Brunswick 7, Catoctin 0

Scott Leazer scored two goals with one assist as the Railroaders improved to 6-6.

Other goals were scored by Tommy Cicmanec, James Miller, Alex Barron, Michalec Milauskas and Ricky Cicmanec. Miller had two assists. Charlie Rohmiller, Austin Mitko, Logan Malone and Ryan Domathoti each had had one assist.

Goalie Jon Henry made one save.

Walkersville 2, Williamsport 1

Eyob Gaffigan and Ethan Miller each had one goal for Walkersville (6-4-2). Ben Armogida and Gaffigan each had one assist.

Nick Reiser had three saves for the Lions.

Walkersville won the junior varsity match 6-0.


Oakdale 6, TJ 1

Kiersten Hoffmann had two goals with two assists for Oakdale. Allison Grunwell, Emma McGaha and Hope Crispell each had one goal with one assist. Taylor Hardesty had one goal. Brooke Butler had one assist.

Jordan Hastie scored Thomas Johnson’s goal. Sydney McCarron had the assist.

Oakdale won the junior varsity game 1-0.

Urbana 6, Walkersville 0

Kylie Caretti had two goals with one assist for Urbana (11-1). Maggie Goodwin had one goal with two assists. Kacey Draves had one goal with one assist. Maddy Hillman had one goal with one assist. Nellie O’Brien had one goal.

McKenna Ladson and Danielle McNerney combined in goal for the shutout.

Ishani Tewari had four saves for Walkersville.

Ethan Crabb shot a 38 for Linganore at PB Dye Golf Club. Matthew Chesebrough shot a 39.

Jacob Ferrari and Bach Ngo each shot a 36 for Urbana at Musket Ridge Golf Club in a double-dual match.

Tuscarora’s Matt Crawmer shot a 42 for Tuscarora against Brunswick. Gavin Hartman shot a 48 for Brunswick.


Hatfield-McCoy Series

Maryland School for the Deaf’s Crosse Herpin finished second out of 45 runners (21 minutes, 01.3 seconds). The Orioles’ Lera Walkup was fifth in the girls’ race (26:09).


FCC 10, Christendom 1

Lindsey Brant, the top-ranked scorer in NJCAA Division I, scored four goals for Frederick Community College (10-2-1).

She has 43 goals on the season.

Ashley Nguyen had a hat trick for the Cougars. Jasmine Lara and Ally Pick each had one goal.
