Jacob Ferrari and AnPhi Le both won individual titles to help Urbana capture the Central Maryland Conference team title on Tuesday at Maryland National Golf Club.

The Hawks had a team score of 294, while second-place Oakdale had a score of 315.

Ferrari was the overall winner with a 5-under 66, while Le won the girls title with a 73. Both of those scores, as well as Urbana’s team score, were the lowest posted in the CMC tournament at Maryland National.

Urbana’s top four was rounded out by Bach Ngo (fourth place with a 75) and William Coffey (80). The Hawks’ Michael Snyder shot an 81.

For the Bears, Elizabeth Tucci was third with a 74, and Chris Lee was fifth with a 76.

Other top finishers from Frederick County teams were: Linganore’s Ethan Crabb (79), Middletown’s Zach Clapper (79), Thomas Johnson’s Josh Roberson (80), Oakdale’s Dell Greiser (82), Oakdale’s Michael Holman (83), Middletown’s Joe Montgomery (84), and Middletown’s Landon Leatherman (84).


Middletown 2, Walkersville 1

The Knights’ Jackson Keele scored off a Wyatt Tribett assist for the game-winner. The first score for Middletown (7-2-2, 4-0-1 CMC Gambrill) came on an own goal.


New Life 3, Broadfording Christian Academy 0

Scores: 25-14, 25-17, 25-19. New Life leaders: Claire Socash 6 kills, Sabrina Standford 5 kills, 7 digs, Lexi Standford 5 kills, 2 blocks, Angela Bueso 4 kills, 7 digs, Maddie Evans 9 digs.

Run In The Valley

Walkersville’s boys beat Brunswick via a tiebreaker, and Middletown’s girls won the five-team meet at Middletown Park.

The Lions’ Owen Welty won the boys race.

Top finishers from the other teams were Brunswick’s Noah McGillivray (fourth), Middletown’s Zachary Spurrier (fifth) and Tuscarora’s Sean Heare (sixth).

Erin McQuitty won the girls race for Middletown, which beat second-place Brunswick in the team standings.

Top finishers from other teams were Walkersville’s Megan Bertolette (third), Brunswick’s Jena Rhodes (fifth) and Tuscarora’s Allison Doyle (24th).


Loyola 4, MSM 2

Boris Nana Tonzi and Marcos Lucero each scored goals for the host Mountaineers (4-5-0).

Mount keeper Riccardo Zonta had five saves.

Alvernia 1, Hood 0

A goal in the 83rd by Alvernia snapped the Blazers’ eight-match unbeaten streak in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

Isaac Coeto Jr. kept the Blazers (9-2-2, 0-1) in the game with a career-high 11 saves.


Goucher 6, Hood 0

Blazers goalies Kenzie Blair each played a half and had three saves.


Hood places sixth

Andrew Heon led the sixth-place Blazers with a round of 78, tying for 15th, at the Hanover Country Club in Abbotstown, Pennsylvania.

Mitchell Gallo paced the ninth-place Mount with a top 20 finish, shooting an 8-over-par 79.
