MIDDLETOWN — Victoria McClain’s two-run walkoff single scored Alyssa Arney in the bottom of the 11th inning to give Middletown the win on Tuesday.

Arney led the Knights (6-3, 4-2 CMC Gambrill) wlth two hits.

Lexi Hofflinger was the winning pitcher in relief with six strikeouts over six innings.

Catoctin 7, Boonsboro 5

THURMONT — Maddie Tobery had a grand slam for Catoctin (6-2, 4-2 CMC Gambrill). Ashley Mayton had two hits with a double. Lizzie Dougherty had two hits.

Grace Mazaleski was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts for the Cougars. Taylor Beckley got the save.

Chapelgate Christian 10, SJCP 3

Xanthi Limber had a triple and a double for St. John’s Catholic Prep (2-3). Madelyne Dukes had two doubles.

Katie Adams has 10 strikeouts for the Vikings.

BASEBALL

Brunswick 6, Clear Spring 5

BRUNSWICK — Matt Walker’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning was the game-winner for Brunswick (4-5).

Matt Boyer had two doubles for the Railroaders. Walker also had two hits.

Trevor Barnhouse (1-0) got the win in relief, pitching five scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

Catoctin 10, Boonsboro 1

THURMONT — Brett Weatherly had two hits with a home run for Catoctin (5-2, 3-1 CMC Gambrill). Ryan Fisher also homered. Nik Ford had two hits.

Dylan Reid (2-0) pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

MSD 14, Covenant Life 3

Miguel Pavao had three hits, including a triple for Maryland School for the Deaf (4-3). Stefan Anderson had two hits, including a two-run, inside-the-park home run for the Orioles.

Gerstell Academy 11, SJCP 2

Nicholas Brandt, Zach Barberich, Seth McRoberts, Andres Enriquez and Nicklaus Grutzkuhn each had one hit for St. John’s Catholic Prep (6-4).

BOYS LACROSSE

Catoctin 14, Brunswick 4

THURMONT — Nathan Rednowers had five goals for Catoctin (2-5, 1-4 CMC Gambrill). RJ Mellor had four goals with three assists. Kyle Gasior had two goals with two assists. Colin Webb had two goals with one assist.

Christian Polyniak had two goals for Brunswick (3-4, 0-4). Jacob Cadle and Layne Harich each had one.

Catoctin won the junior varsity game 8-6.

TJ 8, Tuscarora 4

Gabe Brewster had four goals with one assist for Thomas Johnson (4-3, 4-2 CMC Spires). Charlie Cornell had two goals. Alex Donitzen had one goal with two assists. Aidan Gilsdorf had one goal.

Seth Henry had eight saves for the Patriots.

Dylan Wilson, Jesse Brady-Benzig, Harmon Joyner and Markell Thomas each had one goal for Tuscarora (2-6, 2-2). Noah Grubb had two assists. Jason Forchetti had one assist.

Liam Collins had 15 saves for the Titans.

Oakdale 16, Smithsburg 4

Jack Riddle had four goals with three assists to lead Oakdale (7-0, 5-0 CMC Gambrill). Spencer Hill had four goals.

Shawn Gibbons had nine saves for the Bears.

Walkersville defeated Oakdale 4-3 in the junior varsity game.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Tuscarora 19, TJ 1

Nine different players scored for Tuscarora (6-1, 4-0 CMC Spires).

Quinlin Gray had four goals with four assists to lead the Titans. Gianni Blundell had four goals. Blake Clouser had two goals with one assist. Autumn Resnick, Chandler Stewart and Rachel Nichols each had two goals.

Savannah Vance had one save.

Liberty Price scored Thomas Johnson’s goal.

Tuscarora won the junior varsity game 16-5.

Brunswick 22, Catoctin 2

BRUNSWICK — Olivia Heaton had six goals to lead Brunswick (2-4, 1-2 CMC Gambrill). Makenzie Schnur had two goals with nine assists. Katie Shiley, Ella Dimmick and Brandi Putman each had two goals.

Cassie Leach had one save for the Railroaders.

Kathryn Hill and Molly Joe Knighton each had a goal for Catoctin (0-6, 0-4).

Oakdale 25, Smithsburg 6

Alyssa Wright had four goals with one assist to lead Oakdale (9-0, 5-0 CMC Gambrill). Aiden Peduzzi had four goals. Julia Nicastro and Julia Iapicca each had a hat trick with two assists. Grace Carey had three goals with one assist. Shae Fitzgerald and Anna Blazer each had two goals with one assist.

Danielle Holt and Kailey Bawcom combined for four saves for the Bears.

MIDDLETOWN — Rilee March led Middletown (6-3, 3-1 CMC Gambrill) with a hat trick. Karly Liebendorfer, Jayden White and Brynn Hoffman each had two goals. Isabella Ewine had one goal with three assists.

Nine different players scored for the Knights.

Brigette Remsburg had 12 saves for Middletown.

The Knights also won the junior varsity game.
