Danny Marshall, Urbana, basketball

Marshall's foul shot with eight-tenths of a second left in the game, gave the Hawks their second straight win on Friday, after an 0-15 start, against North Hagerstown, 73-70.

Girls

Julia Doolittle, Oakdale, diving

In her fourth season of diving, Doolittle, a former gymnast, scored a personal-best 208.8, in winning the Frederick County Public Schools diving championship on Thursday, at Walkersville High School.

Shoutouts

Thomas Johnson's boys and Oakdale's girls won team titles at Saturday's Frederick County Public Schools Swimming and Diving Championships at Walkersville High School. The Patriots' boys edged Oakdale 123-119, ending the Bears' seven-year reign as county champions. The Bears' girls defeated Urbana 144-99.5.

Linganore's boys basketball team won the Central Maryland Conference Spires title on Friday, defeating Tuscarora 67-49 to advance to the CMC championship at Hood College's BB&T Arena on Feb. 25.

St. John's Catholic Prep's boys basketball team has a signature win on Friday, defeating MIAA B Conference-leader Archbishop Curley 64-59 at home.

Oakdale's Kevin Tu won the FCPS boys diving championship on Thursday at Walkersville High School.

Urbana's girls track and field team won the Class 4A Central championship on Wednesday at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore.
