Lund was a triple-winner at the state championships at Morgan State University's Hughes Stadium. Lund won the 800- (1 minute, 54.3 seconds) and 1,600-meter runs (4:18.72), and he ran on the winning 4x800 relay team (7:57.01).

Jones defeated Marriotts Ridge's Kallista Liu 6-1, 6-0 to win the Class 2A girls singles state championship on Saturday at Wilde Lake Tennis Club. It's the Bears' first tennis state crown in school history and the third state championship overall in county high school tennis history.
Oakdale's boys and Urbana's girls track and field teams swept team championships on Saturday. The Bears' boys won the Class 2A state crown. The Hawks' girls took the Class 4A state title. County athletes amassed a combined 10 state titles during the meet.
Although Brunswick's softball team lost to Bohemia Manor 4-2 in the Class 1A softball state semifinals Tuesday at Bachman Sports Complex in Glen Burnie, the Railroaders, in their first trip to the state semifinals in school softball history, held the potent Eagles' offense to four runs.
Middletown's baseball team battled LaPlata in Saturday's Class 2A state championship game at Aberdeen's Ripken Stadium but came up short, losing 4-2 to the Warriors.
The Middletown and Linganore softball teams had rough starts this season but fought their way back into the state playoffs before losing to Queen Anne's and Chesapeake-Anne Arundel County in the Class 2A and 3A state semifinals, respectively, Tuesday at Bachman Sports Complex in Glen Burnie.
