Logan Simanski, Freshman, Utility Player
Before you arrived at Catoctin High School, you nearly went to the Little League World Series in 2017 with Thurmont Little League. What do you remember the most about that experience?
The expirence of that journey as a whole was something that I could never forget. From playing baseball, to staying in dorms playing ping-pong, it was a great experience.
It's still very early in the season, but what are some of the things you have noticed about high school baseball?
Something about high school baseball that I’ve noticed is the competition and pitching levels are higher.
What is the key to making good contact when you are at the plate?
First of all, you have to be more mentally tough than the pitcher or else you will never hit the ball. For the swinging part, keeping your head down and your front shoulder in will help with making contact with the ball.
You play in the infield. You play in the outfield. You pitch. You play so many positions very well. What do you think is your best one?
How would you describe the team at Catoctin High this season?
I’d describe the team this year as well-balance because we are a very small group, but capable of very big things.
