What does it mean for you guys to have won the CMC soccer championship?
Oh my gosh. It means so much. I am so excited. Coming off of lacrosse and being CMC champions, it just means so much to also do it in soccer. And I know that these girls are really excited because Urbana hadn't lost to a county team in four years. It's just really exciting that we were able to be that team.
Why are you guys so good in these close, nerve-wracking games?
Last year was the same thing. It was a lot of neck-and-neck kind of games. I just think we are really able to stay composed and just finish what we need to do and get our job done, which is really important.
How would you describe this team to someone who might not know about it?
I mean, it's literally a family. I love every single one of the girls on this team, and I know that they feel the same, completely. We have had such a great season so far, not only on the field but off the field as well. We spend so much time together, and it has just been so enjoyable.
Why do you wear No. 9 for multiple teams at Middletown?
Originally, I was No. 12 for everything Middletown. But, unfortunately, older girls had the number [in high school]. So, I kind of turned it around and chose 9 for high school, and it's really just stuck with me. Now that I have had it, it just means so much to me. I know that it's a really good number.
How would you compare scoring a goal in soccer to scoring a goal in lacrosse?
It's the same feeling when you score a goal in soccer as it is in lacrosse. Everyone is cheering for you. It's really just a special moment.
