When did you start playing volleyball, and what did you like about it?
Freshman year of high school, I picked it up for the very first time. I love everything about it, the competition and everybody working together.
Standing 6-foot, you’re a weapon at the net for Catoctin. Talk about how you get blocks and hits.
You just have to have the proper form and really swing and get up there. The timing is everything.
What sorts of things are you doing on the court now that you weren’t doing when you started your career?
Running different plays. You don’t really run those as a beginner, but now that I’ve been doing it for three years, we’ve been running plays a lot.
Talk about your team, which has pulled off some big wins recently.
It was a slow start, but we’re doing really well and coming together as a team, working together.
You play tennis in the spring. Do any skills translate between that sport and volleyball. The speed translates, but not much else.
