Catoctin 64, Middletown 41

Hitting 11 3-pointers and getting a strong game from Tommy Fitzpatrick, the host Cougars beat the Knights for the first time in recent memory.

It has been at least 18 years since the Cougars beat Middletown, according to Catoctin officials.

Fitzpatrick helped end the drought, finishing with 23 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Ethan Pawlus had 12 points and eight assists for the Cougars (6-4), and David Parker had nine points and nine rebounds.

Brian Walker had 14 points for Middletown, and Jalen Huskey scored 10.

Middletown won the JV game in double overtime 56-55. Brendan Ott had 20 points for the Cougars, and Dalton Williams scored 11.

Frederick 59, FSK 51

Jaden Arrington had 16 points with seven rebounds for Frederick (5-3). Torrey Flournoy had 11 points with five steals. Chris Metevia had 10 points with six rebounds and four steals.

Frederick won the junior varsity game 58-43. Tyliek Henderson had 11 points for the Cadets.

FCA 60, Force 52

Justin Morrisey had 20 points with five rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks for Frederick Christian Academy (8-0). Jaden Wade had 10 points with three assists. Jacob Grimm had 10 points with four assists. Jon Pigatt had eight rebounds. Evan Runkles had six.

A.J. Switzer had 25 points for the Frederick Force (4-11). Caleb Page had 11.

MSD 81, Open Bible 19

Jory Valencia had 20 points with eight assists and six steals for Maryland School for the Deaf (8-3). Miguel Pavao had 14 points. Enow Otto had 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Nathan Sheppeck had five assists and four steals. Zion Ortiz had six steals and five assists. Tyler Dees had five rebounds. Amaree McKenstry had 10 rebounds.

Meghan Shipley had 17 points with three assists for Middletown (7-1, 4-0 CMC Gambrill). Saylor Poffenbarger had 14 points with 10 rebounds and three assists. Melanie Pick had 13 points. Kate Pusey had seven rebounds.

Lily Gadra had eight points for Catoctin (8-2, 3-2).

Middletown won the junior varsity game, 68-17. Rachel Lloyd had 16 points for the Knights.

Frederick 63, Linganore 20

Rose Bubakar and Saniya Dorsey each had 12 points for Frederick (6-3, 3-0 CMC Spires). Yanessa Boyd had 10.

Lexi Cioffi had seven points for Linganore (6-4, 4-1).

Linganore won the junior varsity game, 39-37.

Oakdale 46, Williamsport 40

Sam Foster and Sami Hardesty each had 11 points for Oakdale (9-1, 4-1 CMC Gambrill). Foster had five steals. Nikki Etchison had five rebounds. Hardesty had six rebounds and three blocks.

Oakdale won the junior varsity game 32-21. Taylor Berger and Marin McDonald each had seven points for the Bears.

TJ 34, South Hagerstown 33

Shawn Jones had 15 points for Thomas Johnson (2-8). Elizabeth Nwachuwn had 11 rebounds. Jule Powe had five assists. Jaedyn Bugg had five steals.

TJ won the junior varsity game 38-14. Marcella Barbosa had eight points for the Patriots.

Tuscarora 70, North Hagerstown 38

Camille Martin and Milca Barou each had 13 points for Tuscarora (6-3, 3-2 CMC Spires). Ageira Frazier and Taniya Kufuna each had 11.

Tuscarora won the junior varsity game 52-13. Mia Hill had 23 points for the Titans.

Smithsburg 58, Brunswick 46

Cassidy Rhodes had 14 points for Brunswick (2-5).

New Life 27, Warriors 26

Lexi Standford had 10 points with 11 rebounds for New Life Christian (9-4). Angela Bueso had seven rebounds.

Crystal Salit had 16 points with six rebounds, eight assists and five steals for Maryland School for the Deaf (9-3). Citrine Lummer had 14 points with five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Arielle Zfati had 12 points. Hannah Weiss had eight rebounds with three steals. Ashlynn Cohen had three assists. Alona Zfati had three steals.

Western Maryland Winter Classic

Linganore’s boys and Urbana’s girls won team titles at Hagerstown Community College.

The Lancers boys defeated Potomac, 93.5-63. The Hawks’ girls downed Linganore, 164-51.

Boys

Thomas Johnson’s Alex Lombardo won the 1,600 (4 minutes, 48.18 seconds). The Patriots Mack McKeever won the 3,200 (10:30.9). Linganore’s Xander McClure won the 55 (6.84).

Jackson Tuomey won the high jump for Brunswick (6 feet). Linganore’s Ethan Hart won the shot put (48-7 1/2). The Lancers’ Carter Holsinger won the pole vault (14-7).

Girls

Urbana’s Ella Auderset was a double winner (300, 43.1 seconds; 800, 2:25.45). The Hawks’ Piper Jons won the 500 (1:20.91). Angeline Amefia, Kimmy Hardy, Kyra Reed and Sofia Cedrone won the 4x200 relay (1:58.37) for Urbana. Lydia Robling won the high jump (5-0).

Brunswick’s Michelle Cincotta won the 1,600 (5:34.57).

TJ’s Deborah Obadofin was a double-winner (55 hurdles, 8.59; 55, 7.55).

Erin McQuitty, Renee Washhart, Campbell Caldwell and Keren McRea combined to win the 4x800 relay (10:32.69). Linganore’s Melanie Barger, Savannah Donahue, Devyn McFarland and Mikayla Moxley won the 4x400 relay (4:28.93).

The Lancers’ Myah Davies won the pole vault (9-6).
