SOFTBALL

Urbana punched its ticket to the Central Maryland Conference championship game with a 1-0 win over Linganore on Friday.

The Hawks (14-2, 10-1 CMC Spires) will face Catoctin for the CMC championship at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hood College.

Lauren Lombardo’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning was all the Hawks needed for the win. She led the Hawks with two hits.

Spencer Rupinta was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts.

Catoctin 12, Williamsport 2, 5 innings

Kassidy Tobery had three hits with a double for Catoctin (17-2, 13-1 CMC Gambrill). Courtney Eyler had two hits with a double. Ashley Mayton, Raegan Smith, Madi Tobery and Jessie Wood each had two hits.

Mayton was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts.

AACS 14, SJCP 4

Audrey Spindle had two hits for St. John’s Catholic Prep, which ends its season at 3-8.

BASEBALL

Frederick 6, Middletown 5, 10 innings

With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, Frederick (10-10) scored the winning run on a Middletown error.

The game was the resumption of a game suspended in March.

Tanner Dixon and Nick Struntz each had two hits for the Cadets.

Luke Pryor had three hits for Middletown (13-7). Robert Fulton and Graham Brown each had two.

Oakdale 6, TJ 2

Reece Antognoni led Oakdale (10-8) with three hits. Justin Ritter had two. Ethan Reifer had two RBIs.

Matt Fowkes had two hits for Thomas Johnson (13-6).

Urbana 11, Tuscarora 1, 5 innings

Kameron Walters had three hits with two RBIs for Urbana (10-8). Ferris McIlmail had two hits with two RBIs. Brendan Gilligan had two hits. Brendan Yagesh and Graham King each had a double.

Garrett Osborne was the winning pitcher on a two-hitter with five strikeouts for the Hawks.

Linganore 7, Winters Mill 2

Jake Ference had three hits with a home run, a double and three RBIs for Linganore (13-5). Dylan Miller and Sam Marth each had two hits with a double.

Cam Rokisky was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts.

Catoctin 5, Williamsport 4, 8 innings

Briar Castellow’s RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Catoctin (13-5) the win, as well as the top seed in the Class 1A West, Section II playoffs.

Dustin Isanogle and Mark Rogers each had two hits for the Cougars. Bryson Caballero had a double.

Rogers did not allow an earned through seven innings.
