Class 3A West, Section II Semifinal

Linganore 8, TJ 6

Emily Day’s two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Linganore (12-6) the edge it would need for the win Tuesday.

She finished with three hits and five RBIs.

Sam Everett had two hits for the Lancers.

Jenna McLain got Linganore out of a bases-loaded jam with one out in the sixth, striking out two batters.

Winter Hawk had two hits with a double and three RBIs for Thomas Johnson (12-8). Jenna Maradei had a home run.

Linganore plays at North Hagerstown at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the sectional final. The Hubs defeated Tuscarora 7-4.

Class 4A North, Section II Semifinal

Urbana 6, Blair 3

Ashlyn White had two hits for Urbana (15-4), which plays at Sherwood at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the sectional final.

Spencer Rupinta was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts.

Class 2A West, Section I Semifinal

Oakdale 12, Winters Mill 4

Leah Sothoron had three hits with a home run for Oakdale (8-10), which plays at Century in the sectional final at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Kaleah Wetherholt and Claire Przybocki each had three hits. Hayley McChesney had two hits with four RBIs. Brianna Walker had a home run.

Saylor Kneeland was the winning pitcher.

Class 2A West, Section II Semifinal

Middletown 6, Damascus 4

Victoria McClain had three hits with a double for Middletown (11-9), which plays at Williamsport at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in the sectional final.

Morgan Giannoumis had two hits with a double for the Knights. Kayla Carr had two hits. Kyra Morgan and Emma Ranneberger each had a home run.

McClain was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts.

Class 1A West, Section II Semifinal

Brunswick 3, Boonsboro 2

The Railroaders (14-4) beat Clear Spring for the third time this season, despite generating only three hits.

Senior Katie Laing pitched a complete game for Brunswick and struck out five.

Brunswick’s first three hits were generated by senior Daisy Gardner and sophomores Ellen and Emily Stockman. They each drove in a run.

Junior Abigayle Perry, meanwhile, walked three times and scored twice.

The Railroaders will host Clear Spring at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Section II final.

Clear Spring 6, Catoctin 5

Clear Spring took advantage of subpar play by Catoctin (19-3) for the win.

Madi Tobery had two doubles for the Cougars. Courtney Eyler had a home run. Raegan Smith and Ashley Mayton each had a double.

Mayton had strikeouts over four innings. Cierra Cook allowed no runs over three innings.

BASEBALL PLAYOFFS

Class 2A West, Section I Final

Oakdale 3, Century 2

Ethan Reifer had two hits with a home run for Oakdale (12-8), which plays at Middletown for the regional championship at 4 p.m. Friday.

Justin Ritter had a double for the Bears. Joe Pippin had two hits.

Liam McFadden was the winning pitcher, with seven strikeouts over six innings. Graham Albers picked up the save.

Class 2A West, Section II Final

Middletown 4, Williamsport 2

Graham Brown and Cole Crist each had two hits with a double for Middletown (16-6).

Trevor Woelkers had a double for the Knights. Brown had six strikeouts in relief.

Class 4A North, Section II Semifinal

Sherwood 6, Urbana 3

Urbana finishes its season at 11-10. No other information was provided.

TRACK AND FIELD

IPSL Championships

Cassidy Perry was a triple-winner for Maryland School for the Deaf.

She won the shot put (31 feet, 7 inches), discus (94-9) and javelin (100-10).

Citrine Lummer (triple jump, 31-10¾), Rajenna Guettler (100, 13.31) and Alyssa Glennon (100 hurdles, 18.07) were also winners.

Enow Otto was a double-winner for the MSD boys. He won the triple jump (40 4¾) and ran on the winning 4x400 relay team (3:49.12).

Eric Long won the long jump (18-4½).
