Catoctin 68, Brunswick 66, OT

Catoctin (6-12), which had trailed Brunswick by 12 late in the third quarter, rallied to force overtime. Then, Ethan Pawlus scored all eight of the Cougars’ overtime points for the win on Tuesday night.

He finished with a game-high 19 points. Bryant Parker had 14 points with nine rebounds. Garrett Mayhew had 11 points.

Layne Harich and Spencer Kornblum each had 17 points for Brunswick (3-14). Kornblum had 11 rebounds. Brayden Jones had nine. Jaeden Spriggs had five assists. Harich had five assists.

Brunswick won the junior varsity game 56-43. J.T. Harich had 16 points for the Railroaders.

Linganore 58, Urbana 40

Fran Palacios had 19 points for Linganore (13-3, 8-1 CMC Spires). Sean Lang had 11. Jacob Ference had 10.

Ben Sicat had 14 points for Urbana (4-11).

Linganore won the junior varsity game 37-35. Connor Savage had 10 points for Linganore. Isaiah Foster had 10 points for Urbana.

Frederick 71, Green St. Academy 67

Jahmik Hill hit seven free throws in the fourth quarter during a 35-point outing to help the Cadets (9-8) hold on for the win.

Hill added 10 boards, five assists and three blocks. Nathan Osei scored 14 points, while Adrian Adlam had 10. Jaden Arrington had six rebounds.

Green Street Academy won the JV game.

Williamsport 64, Walkersville 42

Chaz Egan had 11 points with five rebounds for Walkersville (5-12). Kenyan Chum had five rebounds.

Williamsport won the junior varsity game.

Oakdale 55, Smithsburg 22

Ethan Reifer had 13 points for Oakdale (14-3, 11-0 CMC Gambrill).

Jack McGaha and Collin Schlee each scored 10. Schlee had 15 rebounds and nine assists. Dylan Berney had five rebounds.

MSD 50, Covenant Life 36

Eric Long had 12 points for Maryland School for the Deaf (16-3).

Miguel Pavao and Jason Werner each scored 11. Rory Lewis had eight rebounds, four steals with three assists. Pavao had six rebounds, five steals and three assists. Werner had eight rebounds. Enow Ott had five.

FCA 53, Warriors 37

JJ Morrisey had 12 points for Frederick Christian Academy (15-2). Jon Pigatt had 11 points with 11 rebounds.

The Warriors’ Tyler Lindley scored 16 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Catoctin 48, Brunswick 30

Emma Wivell had 12 points for Catoctin (8-10). Raegan Smith had 11.

Emily Stockman had 10 points for Brunswick (1-16).

Catoctin won the junior varsity game 35-17. Lily Burgee had 12 points for the Cougars.

Oakdale 47, Smithsburg 26

Brianna Walker had 15 points with eight rebounds and four assists for Oakdale (17-1, 11-1 CMC Gambrill). Aubrey Austin had 10 points. Grace Carey had five rebounds.

Oakdale won the junior varsity game 43-27. Daniella McGuthrie had 14 points for the Bears.

Middletown 46, Boonsboro 40

Saylor Poffenbarger scored 16 points with 12 rebounds and four blocks as the Knights improved to 17-2.

Meghan Shipley added 12 points.

Middletown won the JV game 48-22 behind Julia Harris’ 19 points.

Walkersville 33, Williamsport 28

Eve Bernardoni had 13 points with seven rebounds for Walkersville (13-5, 8-4 CMC Gambrill).

Chidera Ogwulu had five rebounds. Maggie Molnar had five assists.

Walkersville won the junior varsity game 42-28. Rachel Okonah had 11 points for the Lions.

New Life 33, Faith Christian 21

Claire Socash had 16 points with 14 rebounds and three blocks for New Life Christian (8-13). Angela Bueso had three steals.

MSD 67, Covenant Life 30

Cassidy Perry had 30 points with 14 rebounds, six assists and four steals for Maryland School for the Deaf (17-3). Rajena Guettler had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Estelina Kovacs had 10 points with eight rebounds.

FCA 37, Warriors 16

Julianna Passarelli had six points for the Frederick Warriors (3-11). Frederick Christian Academy scoring was not provided.
