BOYS BASKETBALL

Brycen Hill scored a game-high 24 points, including his 1,000th career point, Monday at St. John’s Catholic Prep as the Vikings overcame a slow start to beat St. Mary’s 80-65 in an MIAA B Conference game.

Hill reached his milestone in the third quarter as he hit the fourth of his five 3-pointers.

Aaron White added 21 points and 14 rebounds, and Josh Bell and Brandon Pilgrim each grabbed seven rebounds for SJCP (11-4, 3-2 MIAA B Conference). Ty Collins dished out six assists, and Pilgrim had four.

Walkersville 43, Catoctin 38

Jacob Montgomery hit four 3-pointers on his way to a 23-point performance, and he also dished out four assists for the host Lions.

Jeremiah Franklin and Andrew Brooks grabbed 10 and nine rebounds, respectively, and Chaz Egan had four assists and three steals for Walkersville (3-8).

Catoctin won the JV game.

FCA 47, Rosedale Baptist 46

Justin Morrisey tallied 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, five steals and two blocks, and J.J. Morrisey’s steal with about 30 seconds remaining helped the Defenders escape with a victory on the road.

Jaden Wade added nine rebounds and five assists for FCA (7-1).

Saint Francis 68, Mount St. Mary’s 66

Trailing by two, the Mount had possession with 6.8 seconds remaining with a chance to tie or take the lead, but Daly Sullivan’s corner 3-pointer hit the front iron, and Saint Francis escaped with the victory.

Juliette Lawless led the Mountaineers (6-7, 0-2 Northeast Conference) with 18 points and five rebounds. Bridget Birkhead scored 12 points, and Michaela Harrison added 11 points. Jess Kovatch led the Red Flash (5-9, 2-0) with 23 points.
