Linganore, Middletown and Urbana will compete in the regional wrestling duals Wednesday.

The Lancers (11-3), who were the Class 3A state runner up last season, will compete in the 3A West regional at Damascus, while Middletown (13-1) will compete in the 2A West at South Carroll, and Urbana (9-5) will wrestle in the 4A West at Bethesda Chevy Chase.

The host schools are the top seed in each four-team region. The semifinals begin at 5:30 p.m., with the championship match to follow.

The winner of each region will advance to Saturday’s state duals at North Point High School in Waldorf.

Linganore is the No. 2 seed in the 3A West and will wrestle No. 3 seed North Hagerstown (10-3) in the semifinals. The winner of that match will take on either nine-time state duals champion Damascus (13-1) or Magruder (10-4) in the championship match.

Meanwhile, Middletown, the 2A-1A state duals champion in 2016 and ’17, is the No. 3 seed in the 2A West and will face second-seeded Glenelg (13-1) in the semifinals. The winner of that match will take on either top-seeded South Carroll (13-1) or fourth-seeded Winters Mill (12-2) in the championship match.

Urbana, the 4A-3A state duals champion in 2012 and the 4A champion in 2018, is the No. 4 seed in the 4A West and will wrestle unbeaten Bethesda Chevy Chase (14-0) in the semifinals. The winner of that match will take on either Clarksburg (10-4) or Winston Churchill in the championship match.

At the state duals Saturday at North Point, Class 2A and 1A will wrestle at noon with the championship bouts at 4 p.m., while 4A and 3A will compete at 2 p.m. with their championship bouts at 6:30 p.m.
