Hood 9, Lebanon Valley 3

Brad Sawyer had three hits with a double, two runs scored, and one RBI to help the Blazers win a game that was played at Mount St. Mary’s Shaw Field.

Trent Copenhaver, Dylan Beck, Jordan Patterson, and Andrew Wenner each had two hits for Hood. Patterson worked seven innings for the win, allowing four hits and one earned run and striking out six. Jake Howell and Des Grimes provided the final two innings of relief for the Blazers, combining to allow one run on three hits.

MSM 9, LIU Brooklyn 5

Patrick Causa and Thomas Savastio combined for five RBIs, five runs scored, a double, and a home run in the fourth and fifth spots to help the Mount improve to 5-4 in the Northeast Conference.

Mount pitchers Jordan Geber, Noah Smith, Andrew Dameron and Dennis Snyder only allowed three earned runs. Smith (2-1) pitched three innings for the Mount, allowing one run on four hits. Snyder pitched two shutout innings to pick up his second save in the last two games and his fourth of the season.


MSM 9-7,

Saint Francis U. 1-10

Back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning by Morgan Alisauckas, Lindsay Heinze and Shelbee Holcomb highlighted the Mount’s win in six innings in the opening game.

Amanda Berkley allowed one run in five innings to pick up the win for the Mount (17-20, 4-4 NEC). Holcomb went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Saint Francis rallied from a 6-2 deficit to earn a win in the nightcap. Kaia Bonshock, Kaylee Stoner and Kate Wade each had two hits for the Mountaineers.


Mount swept

The Mount men’s team lost to Sacred Heart 4-3, while the women’s lost 6-1.

Jean Armstrong and Alonso Garcia led the Mountaineers men with singles match wins and a doubles match win. For the Mount women, Alexa Quintanilla picked up her team leading 13th singles flight victory while she also added a doubles win.


Mount places eighth

The Mount St. Mary’s men’s golf team earned its best finish of the season, tying for eighth place after rounding out play at the Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club on Sunday. The Mountaineers posted a team score of 300 on the final day for a two-round total of 603. Nacho Gomez finished in a tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard with a two-round total of 146.
