Track and Field

Oakdale's girls dominated the field in repeating its MVAL Antietam championship on Friday on its home track.

The Bears topped Boonsboro, 188 1/2-89 1/2.

Emma King, Adell Remsberg, Charlotte Kowalk, Abby Stultz, Jackie McNulty and Maryah Wright were double-winners for the Bears.

King won the pole vault and ran on the winning 400 relay team; Remsberg won the 100 hurdles and ran on the winning 400 relay team; Kowalk swept the 400 and 800, McNulty swept the long and triple jumps; Stultz won the high jump and ran on the winning 800 relay team and Wright ran on two winning relay teams.


Tuscarora 2, TJ 0, 9 Inn.

Kyle MacDougall had two hits for Tuscarora (3-12). Ryan Brown was the winning pitcher.

Urbana 5, Linganore 0

Sam Bryan had two hits with a double for Urbana (8-8). Christian Worch had three hits.

Heath Shultz was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts.

Frederick 20, Oakdale 2, 6 Inn.

Jerel English, Logan Manz and Terence Ponder all had three hits for Frederick (7-11). English was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts.

Catoctin 4, South Hagerstown 3

Alex Kennedy and Connor Cool each had two hits for the Cougars (11-4, 7-4 MVAL Piedmont). Kennedy doubled and drove in two runs. Cool was the winning pitcher. He struck out seven, walked one and did not allow an earned run over seven innings. He improved to 3-0.

North Hagerstown 9, Brunswick 3

HAGERSTOWN — Chance Smith had four hits with a home run and a double for Brunswick (12-6). Zach Hossler had two hits with a double. Joe Fawley had two hits.


TJ 9, Tuscarora 8, 8 Inn.

Brittany McHugh singled in the winning run for Thomas Johnson (9-7).

Caroline Morse had five hits for the Patriots. Taylor Haller and Sarah Linton each had three hits with a double. Alexis Burke had two hits.

Kaleigh Edwards had a triple for Tuscarora. Haley Christensen had a double.

Oakdale 17, Frederick 7, 5 Inn.

Jess Coggins had three hits, including two doubles, for Oakdale. Kelly Barnhard and Katy Delph each had two hits. Emerald Green had a triple. Ciara Whipp was the winning pitcher.

Catoctin 8, South Hagerstown 2

THURMONT — Ciarra Walters and Kaylee Krietz each had three hits for Catoctin (16-1, 12-0 Antietam), which has clinched at least a tie for the division championship.

The Cougars can win the division outright if they defeat North Hagerstown at Catoctin today.

Kristy Erfurdt had two hits.

Boys Lacrosse

SJCP 18, Chapelgate 5

Grier Wilson had four goals for St. John's Catholic Prep. Conor Snyder, Andrew Gauvin and Bryce Johnson all had hat tricks.

Mac Coulehan and Mikey Thane combined for 16 saves.

Girls Lacrosse

Francis Scott Key 10, Brunswick 9

Kendyl Hutchins had three goals for the Railroaders.

Carly Cooper had two goals, and Liz Yeomans had two goals. Goalie Sarah Zwilsky had 16 saves.

Brunswick won the JV game, 13-2.
