Mount headed to preseason NIT

EMMITSBURG — This year's Mount St. Mary's schedule features the school's first trip to the women's Preseason NIT.

The Mount opens its season with a trip to Philadelphia to take on reigning Atlantic 10 Champion Saint Joseph's on Nov. 8 in the first round of the tournament.

Coming off a 2012-13 season that included a 15-16 record and a berth in the Northeast Conference Semifinals, Whitten's squad will play 12 non-conference and 18 NEC games in his seventh year with the program.

The Mount's schedule features six games against teams that won at least 20 games last season and 11 against teams with winning records in 2012-13.

In the local roundup on B-2 Thursday, the Middletown at Urbana golf match contained errors. The correct report appears in today's roundup.
